An exciting opportunity has a risen for a band 5 Dietitian to work with our inpatient dietetic team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive Dietitian, with excellent clinical, communication and team working skills. This could be a great opportunity to start your dietetic career or to develop your current skills by working within a team of specialist dietitians in an acute setting. You will provide cover to wards including the Acute Medical Unit, gastroenterology, respiratory, endocrine, haematology, surgery including head and neck and vascular and care of the elderly. In addition to this you will manage 1 -2 general outpatient clinics a week. Some cross site working may be required across the three hospital sites covered by the Trust, transport is available.

We are a fully integrated team that includes, dietitians, nutrition nurses and assistants. Professional development is encouraged and supported through appraisal and there is a twelve month Preceptorship programme for all band 5 staff. You will be allocated time for studying and shadowing experienced specialist dietitians in areas that include critical care, stroke, gastroenterology and paediatrics.

What does the role look like?

As part of our team at the William Harvey Hospital, your role will involve the repair, maintenance and management of all Mechanical, Electrical and Building Services, along with the direct management of staff. The main function of this post is to assist management and other Trades in the performance of their duties at the relevant site. The role requires an in depth knowledge of electrical systems and this will be underpinned by a qualification in an electrical discipline.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a group member deploying staff, requisitioning stores, materials and transport, and arranging for security of stores and materials.
  • Use computer software to produce reports, documents and drawings and take responsibility for the operation of various information systems & ensure effective implementation of the CAFM system
  • Raise computerised requests for maintenance works, (Defects and Planned Preventative Maintenance), allocating tasks to engineers accordingly
  • Ensure patient needs are prioritised to benefit and enhance their experience at all times.
  • Managing issues related to staff, resources, discipline and efficiency of the Technical Solutions workforce
  • Project management of delegated projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Executive and Department of Health guidelines at all times.
  • Personal responsibility for ensuring team adherence to statutory policies on Health & Safety, Risk Management, Confidentiality and Data Protection
  • Managing and Daily running of a PPM regime.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Have served a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship/Hold a City and Guilds/ONC/HNC qualification
  • Worked in the Engineering & Maintenance sector

  • Understanding & knowledge of BMS Systems
  • Desirably AP Qualified in HTM 06-02 Electrical Low voltage & HTM02 Medical Gases (appropriate training will be given to the successful candidate)
